Melamine Foam | Acoustic Panels
Melamine Foam is an open-cell thermoset foam made from melamine resin. Its fine three-dimensional filament network traps sound energy, giving NRC 0.95 at very low weight, while the base material is inherently fire resistant with no added flame retardants. PackSound supplies melamine acoustic foam in India as flat sheets, pyramid, wedge and egg-crate profiles from 10 mm to 200 mm thick, for studios, HVAC and plant rooms, rail, marine and industrial noise control.

What Is Melamine Foam?
Melamine foam is a lightweight, open-cell acoustic foam with a density of only 9 to 11 kg/m³. Sound enters the open cells and loses energy as it moves through the fine filament structure, so the foam absorbs strongly from about 500 Hz upward, and thicker panels improve low-frequency absorption. Unlike polyurethane acoustic foam, melamine is self-extinguishing, tolerates continuous temperatures up to 200°C and also insulates against heat, which is why it is used in HVAC ducts, plant rooms, railway carriages and engine rooms as well as studios and offices.
