What Are Polyester Fiber Ceiling Clouds?

A polyester fiber cloud is a non-woven, thermally bonded PET panel suspended flat below the ceiling. Sound passes into the open fibre structure and loses energy as it moves through it. Because the cloud hangs in free air, both faces and the edges absorb, which is why PET clouds reach NRC 0.85 to 1.0 with thicker panels. They need no false ceiling grid, weigh very little and can be cut into almost any shape, so they double as a design feature.
