Acoustic Performance
Acoustic partitions do two different jobs. Sliding folding and drywall partitions block sound from passing between rooms, while dividers and screens absorb sound inside an open space. An acoustic partition wall only works as well as its weakest gap, so seals and junctions matter as much as the panels.
Blocking is measured using the Sound Transmission Class (STC), and AcoFascia™ sliding and drywall systems reach up to STC 55. Absorption is measured using the Noise Reduction Coefficient (NRC), and AcoFascia™ dividers and screens reach up to 0.9.
Choosing the right system starts with the question of privacy. If a room must be private, choose a sealed wall. If you only need to calm an open floor, choose dividers or screens.
